- Buxom recently released three new eyeshadow palettes as well as a customizable eyeshadow bar palette, all with interchangeable wells, so that you can customize your palette, on initial inspection it reminds me of every other nude palette currently on the market, but the interchangeable wells is definitely a great selling point, this is my first purchase from Buxom.
- The palettes retails for $40.00, the single eyeshadows retails for $12.00 each, they are sold at Sephora. (they are not available in all Sephora locations at this time, but, you can purchase them online) I believe they are exclusive to Sephora. http://www.sephora.com
- I could not pass on this palette, I am drawn to gold and anything shimmery! I love that this palette offers more shimmer colors than matte. (especially since all matte palettes have taken over)😜
- They are silky, smooth & pigmented shadows, no fall out noticed when swatched.
- Swatched on arm with my fingers, no primer was use as Buxom claims these shadows have a new primer-infused technology, which keeps color locked in place on the lid.
The packaging is fun, made of a hard plastic, with a removable insert that house the eyeshadows, the clasp is sorta flimsy, but we will see how it holds up.
The colors are pretty with a ulta luxe finish as described by Buxom.
I swatched on forearm with light strokes, it appears to build up easy without a lot of effort, I am a NW45 in MAC for reference.
The wells are simple and easy to remove and fit snugly in place.
These are the six shadows that come with this palette, Gold Status & Style Icon are my favorite so far. I would recommend this palette based off my first impression, is it a must have, no!
Pro’s
- The shadows are beautiful, pigmented and easy to blend.
- You can customize the standard palette/replenish single shadows as needed.
- Easier to travel with than a Z-palette, you can pop the shadows in/out and go.
- Good quality for the price point.
Con’s
- The packaging is bulky in my opinion.
- The brush is small and cheap, considering the $40.00 price point, I think the quality could have been better.
- The clasp is sub par to say the least for a palette that you could have for a very long time.
